As part of the policy to monitor the movement of goods under the control of customs, it has been made mandatory to install tracking devices on safari vessels that carry pork and alcohol.
Customs said in a statement on Saturday that it is working to strengthen the monitoring of vessels under its control and vehicles that approach or depart from them.
The Rules on Monitoring and Maintenance of Customs Controlled Goods and Vessels under Customs Control, 2018, are amended, and it has been made mandatory to install tracking devices on vessels that are allowed to go to places other than official ports, as well as those carrying alcohol/pork supplies.
This includes:

Safari vessels containing alcohol and pork meat products

Vessels permitted to be docked in a local port under safe anchorage
-
Local vessels carrying goods to vessels under customs control
The rule has come into force since the 15th of this month.
