Several parts of Addu are flooded due to heavy rains.
Addu Mayor Ali Nizar said in a Facebook post on Friday that more than 30 houses in Feydhoo have been damaged due to the flooding. The MNDF, police and Feydhoo office are providing assistance, he said.
In another post on Friday evening, Nizar said some houses were flooded to the point where the houses had become uninhabitable.
The "council will provide the best service possible to the families," he said in his post.
The Met Office has also issued a yellow alert for Fuvahmulah and Addu on Friday evening. The alert, which was issued from 8:30 pm to 12:30 pm, said heavy rains with thunderstorms were expected.
The rainfall chart shows that 167 millimetres of rain fell in S.Gan from 8:00 am on Friday to 8:00 am Saturday.
