The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has decided to provide temporary shelter to some of the people affected by heavy rains in the capital city on Saturday.
Heavy rain with thunderstorms caused flooding in large parts of the city on Saturday afternoon. The security forces came out with pumps to drain the water from the roads.
NDMA said Saturday's rainfall rapid assessment showed that:

Nine houses were identified as difficult to live in

Temporary accommodation is being arranged for the relocation of 34 residents living in five of these houses; meals included

The five houses have been flooded to the point where it is difficult to live, toilets have been disrupted and sewage has leaked
MNDF installed 14 pumps in eight areas of the city to drain the flooded roads. These areas include IGMH, STO Flour Warehouse, Dhiraagu Office, West Park, Jelly Pizza, Dharubaaruge and Food Court area.
