NDMA to assess flood damage in Male

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has announced that it will begin assessing the damage to houses affected by heavy rainfall and flooding in Male' on Friday.
The agency confirmed that an evaluation of the damages will commence Sunday, as part of their ongoing efforts to assess and respond to the impacts of the recent weather event.
According to the NDMA, 226 individuals from 26 households in Male' were displaced due to the flooding. In response, the authority provided temporary shelter to those affected. The NDMA extended shelter for two days to help families cope with the immediate aftermath of the floods.
The floods, which struck the city during a period of heavy rainfall, caused significant disruption. Several areas in Male' experienced flooding, with some parts of the city submerged and parked vehicles suffering damage.
The rainfall was particularly intense in certain areas, with Hulhule recording the highest rainfall at 144 millimeters, followed closely by Male' at 142.2 millimeters. Other regions also saw considerable rainfall, including:
