Govt completes land allocation draw for Gulhifalhu

According to the Ministry of Housing, Infrastructure and Urban Development, one representative for each allocated plot was permitted entry to the draw area.

The draw to allocate land plots from Gulhifalhu under the Binveriya housing scheme concluded today, following changes to the area’s land use plan.

The draw was conducted in the Usfangandu area of Malé. It commenced at 2:30 p.m. Friday and concluded at 4:30 a.m. Saturday.

Land plots were allocated in the following categories:

  • 684 plots of 1,250 square feet

  • 1,242 plots of 1,650 square feet

  • 923 plots of 2,050 square feet

  • 479 plots of 2,450 square feet

  • 158 plots of 2,850 square feet

  • 49 plots of 3,250 square feet

  • 22 plots of 3,650 square feet

According to the Ministry of Housing, Infrastructure and Urban Development, one representative for each allocated plot was permitted entry to the draw area.

The ministry stated that with the completion of the lottery, information regarding the issuance of land registries and the signing of agreements with recipients will be made public tomorrow.

The current administration has continued the Binveriya scheme initiated by the previous government and has announced the allocation of more than 2,000 land plots under this programme. Additionally, 1,347 individuals who were previously allocated land in Giraavaru Falhu will have their plots transferred to Gulhifalhu.
