The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) said 77 households in 13 islands have been affected by the heavy rains.
The westerly rains have been perpetual since the beginning of this month. The rain intensified from the 12th of this month, and hasn't yet lightened. The rainfall has caused record amounts of rainfall in the city and some islands.
NDMA said on social media on Monday that 13 islands have been affected by the rains. 77 houses in these islands have been damaged and assessment forms have been submitted.
According to the NDMA:

Houses were damaged by heavy rains and flooding

The houses sustained damages to appliances and electronics on average

Farm areas in three islands were also damaged
The NDMA said the damage is being assessed.
Many houses in the city were also flooded and damaged. 256 households requested assistance while 23 people were taken to temporary shelters from five households.
After assessing the houses damaged by the rains, the government provides assistance.
