The National Meteorological Department (MET) on Monday issued a weather warning for the Maldives for the next two days.
According to the MET Office, a cyclone is expected to move slowly westwards, bringing rainfall to different parts of the country.
The forecast states that:

Rain is expected Tuesday and the following day across various regions.

Heavy rainfall is anticipated in some areas in the north and central parts of the country.

More intense rainfall is expected on Thursday.
