Maldives parliament approves eight new ambassadors

Permanent Representative to the UN Offices in Geneva is Dr Salma Rasheed.

The Parliament has approved the nominations of Mohamed Hussain Shareef as the new Ambassador of Maldives to the UAE.

Eight ambassadors, including Mohammed Hussain Shareef, were approved by the Parliament on Monday.

The ambassadors approved at Monday's sitting are:

  • Ambassador to the UAE Mohammed Hussain Shareef

  • Permanent Representative to the United Nations Dr Ali Naseer Mohammed

  • Ambassador to the UK Dr Iruthisham Adam

  • Masood Imad as Ambassador to Sri Lanka

  • Ambassador to Malaysia Dr Maryam Shabeena Ahmed

  • Geela Ali as Ambassador to the European Union and Belgium

  • Permanent Representative to the UN Offices in Geneva Dr Salma Rasheed

  • Mohamed Luwaiz as Ambassador to Singapore

These are the first of the ambassador nominations sent to parliament by President Mohammed Muizzu's government.
