Parliament on Monday approved the appointment of ambassadors to three countries, including former governor Dr Fazeel Najeeb, as ambassador to China.
The Foreign Relations Committee of the Parliament had approved the three nominees sent by the president.
In addition to Fazeel, the other nominations passed by the parliament are:

Shiuneen Rasheed as Ambassador to Bangladesh

Mohammed Thoha as Saudi Ambassador
The names of Fazeel and Shiuneen were passed by 35 votes of approval. Thoha received 33 votes.
No one voted against the candidates.
Fazeel Najeeb and Thoha contested the PNC primary in the last parliamentary elections but lost:

Thoha contested for the Holhudhoo constituency
