Maldives pres appoints nine new Ambassadors

President Muizzu met and spoke with the newly appointed ambassadors at the ceremony.

Nine ambassadors for other countries as well as international organisations, were appointed by the president on Tuesday.

The ambassadors were presented with their letters of appointment at a ceremony held at the President's Office on Tuesday morning by President Dr. Mohammed Muizzu.

The 9 ambassadors appointed on Tuesday are:

  • Ambassador to the UAE Mohammed Hussain Shareef

  • Permanent Representative to the United Nations Ali Naseer Mohammed

  • Ambassador to the UK Iruthisham Adam

  • Ambassador to Sri Lanka Masood Imad

  • Ambassador to Malaysia Maryam Shabeena Ahmed

  • Geela Ali as Ambassador to the European Union and Belgium

  • Permanent Representative to the UN Offices in Geneva Salma Rasheed

  • Mohamed Luwaiz as Ambassador to Singapore

  • Fazeel Najeeb as Ambassador to China

President Muizzu met and spoke with the newly appointed ambassadors at the ceremony.
