A woman has fallen from the ninth floor of a building in the capital city Male.
Police said they are investigating the "death of a woman who fell from a building near customs building," the police said on Wednesday.
Police also urged the public to "respect the feelings of the family at this time and not to circulate images of the deceased and scenes of the incident on social media”.
A video of the woman lying on the street has been circulating on social media. Police also confirmed that she is a 25-year-old woman.
Atoll Times learned that the woman fell from the ninth floor of the Hasova Building in Maafannu ward of Male.
It is not clear how she fell. Police are investigating the case.
A video circulating on social media shows someone picking up the woman and taking her to hospital in a pickup truck.
