Ibrahim Ziyath has resigned from his position as Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Maldives Ports Limited, following his removal from the company's Board of Directors earlier this year.
MPL confirmed on Sunday that Ziyath stepped down from the post approximately one month ago.
His resignation comes after changes to the company's board in May, when he was removed as an executive board member.
At the time, Mohamed Lam'an was appointed to the board in Ziyath's place. Lam'an was also appointed Deputy CEO of the company.
The reason for Ziyath's resignation has not been publicly disclosed.
Ziyath was appointed Deputy CEO of MPL in March.
Prior to joining MPL, he served as Chief Executive Officer of Maldives Transport and Contracting Company during the administration of former President Abdulla Yameen.
He has also held positions at State Electric Company Limited and State Trading Organization during his career.
Despite Ziyath's departure, MPL continues to have three Deputy CEOs, including Lam'an.
The company has not announced any further management changes following the resignation.
