
Presidential advisors: Khaleel for tourism; Janah for trade
The advisors are appointed without remuneration.
Two advisers have been appointed to advise President Dr Mohamed Muizzu on business and economic issues.
President Muizzu was sworn in as the eighth president of Maldives Friday afternoon. His cabinet ministers were sworn in Friday evening, following which appointments were made to various positions in the President’s Office.
Mohamed Khaleel was appointed as Advisor to the President on Tourism Development.
Khaleel is a shareholder in and leads several leading businesses including:

Dh. Kudahuvadhoo airport operator, Dhaalu Airport Holdings

Pulse Hotels & Resorts, which owns and operates three resorts in Maldives

Diversified investment and business group, Reollo

Domestic airline, Manta Air
Mohamed Ali Janah was appointed as the Principal Advisor to the President on Trade and Investment. Janah is the President of the Maldives National Association of Construction Industry (MACI) and a member of the Advisory Council of the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council.
Janah is also the Chairman of Hotels and Resorts Construction.
The Principal Advisor to the President on Trade and Investment and the Advisor to the President on Tourism Development are positions appointed without remuneration.
