Maldives Media Council elects new members

Maldives Media Council (MMC) on Saturday elected new members as the current council’s term nears its conclusion.
The election took place at the Social Centre, ahead of the current term's expiration next Saturday. A total of 22 candidates vied for positions on the council, with 139 media outlets participating in the vote.
The seven members elected by media outlets are:

The voting process proceeded smoothly without any major disruptions. However, some candidates raised concerns about last-minute changes to the voters' list, filing formal complaints regarding the issue.
The newly elected members will assume responsibilities following the conclusion of the current council’s term.
