Heavy rainfall affected 30 Male houses, NDMA says
NDMA provided details of the incidents reported and the actions taken in response to the rainfall.
National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) said on Monday that 30 houses were affected by heavy rainfall in Male on Saturday.
In a statement shared on the platform X, the NDMA provided details of the incidents reported and the actions taken in response to the rainfall.
According to the statement, a total of 98 calls were received through the hotlines of the NDMA, police, army, and the Red Crescent. The calls included:

70 requests for sandbags.

21 reports of damage.

Seven requests for emergency assistance.
The NDMA completed assessments of the 30 houses that required damage evaluations. Most of the reported damage was to household equipment, while some cases involved structural issues, such as damaged ceilings. The authority stated that the extent of the damage is being calculated and further verified.
Additionally, 32 individuals from eight households were temporarily relocated to shelters. These individuals have since returned to their homes, according to the NDMA.
