The decision to withhold SIFCO flats from soldiers who had already received Hiyaa flats has been reversed, with agreements now signed to allocate the SIFCO flats despite prior Hiyaa flat ownership.

The reversal was disclosed in a Civil Court ruling issued on Monday. The case involved two soldiers who had filed a lawsuit against SIFCO, challenging the decision not to provide the flats.

According to the Civil Court, the soldiers withdrew their lawsuit after SIFCO agreed to allocate the flats while the case was still pending. Agreements for the flats were subsequently signed.

The lawsuit initially argued that SIFCO's decision to deny the flats was invalid due to the imposition of a condition that had not been in place at the time of the original application. The petitioners had requested the court to mandate SIFCO to hand over the keys to the flats and formalise the agreements.
