A man has been seriously injured while undergoing police training at the Vaanee Police Training Centre in Dhaalu Atoll.
According to a statement released by the Maldives Police Service, the incident occurred Sunday morning during a training session. The trainee was first taken to Dh. Kudahuvadhoo Hospital for emergency treatment after falling seriously ill.
Due to the severity of his condition, he was later airlifted to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) in Malé for advanced medical care.
"The condition is very critical," police said in their statement.
Authorities have not released the identity of the individual or the specific cause of his medical emergency. An investigation is underway.
