Thirteen people have been arrested so far in a joint operation run by security forces following a bomb threat, police announced Saturday.
Police and MNDF launched a joint counter-terrorism operation on Friday. Police announced that the operation was being carried out in Male, Addu and at sea.
Police said on Saturday that the operation is still going on and 13 people have been arrested so far. According to the police, the arrests were:

Nine people from Addu

Two from Male

Two from K. Guraidhoo

All the 13 arrested were local men
The army is yet to provide further details of the operation. However, a reliable source confirmed that the operation was being carried out after receiving a bomb threat.
Photos posted on social media on Friday showed a large number of soldiers and police cordoning off the surrounding area of a house at Addu.
According to a report in Addu Live, a bomb squad of the army, a large number of SO police and soldiers are currently deployed in Addu.
