CCTV footage reveals second motorcycle in fatal highway accident
Police confirmed that the man was taken to IGMH for treatment but died at around 9 am, approximately 30 minutes after the accident.

CCTV footage has confirmed that a second motorcycle was involved in an accident on the Male-Hulhumale Bridge highway on Saturday morning, in which a Bangladeshi man lost his life.
The footage, which surfaced on social media Monday evening, shows the man falling after his motorcycle hit a traffic cone before being struck by another motorcycle.
Initially, police did not disclose the involvement of a second motorcycle. However, when asked by Atoll Times Monday, police confirmed that another motorcycle was involved. The vehicle was towed, and the driver’s license was confiscated. The reason for the tow was not disclosed.
The accident occurred at 8:19 am. The video footage shows the man falling on the highway, losing his helmet on the right side of the road.
Within half a second, another motorcycle traveling at high speed struck him. It remains unclear whether the vehicle hit his head or leg. The man was seen moving after the impact.
A 60-year-old Maldivian woman has been questioned in connection with the incident. In a message to the media, police stated that her license was confiscated and the motorcycle was towed.
Police confirmed that the man was taken to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) for treatment but died at around 9 am, approximately 30 minutes after the accident.
Investigations are ongoing.
