Nineteen foreigners detained at the Hulhumale Detention Centre have been released after receiving treatment for food poisoning.
According to the hospital, the individuals were brought in as an emergency case by ambulance Saturday night. The group included 16 men and three women. They were discharged this morning following treatment.
Authorities have not yet confirmed the cause of the food poisoning or how it occurred.
When the individuals were admitted to the hospital, police cordoned off the area in front of the facility.
