Expat with communicable disease missing in Villimalé
Amin was scheduled to travel to Bangladesh for medical treatment.
A foreign national identified as Ruhul Amin, 31, from Bangladesh, has been reported missing, according to a social media post by an individual named Mohamed Shareef.
In the Facebook post, Shareef stated that Amin, who was employed at a factory in Villimalé, has been missing since Monday morning. Amin was scheduled to travel to Bangladesh for medical treatment.
Shareef said the Health Protection Agency (HPA) had identified that Amin was diagnosed with a communicable disease. However, Shareef added that the specific illness was not disclosed in the report shared by the HPA.
Shareef further stated that there was no record of Amin boarding the ferry to the airport. He claimed that the HPA was actively searching for Amin, and he had not filed a report with the Maldives Police Service.
According to Sharif, the HPA is concerned that the missing individual may pose a public health risk if the disease is transmitted to others.
The HPA and police authorities have not issued any public statements regarding the incident. Individuals with information about the whereabouts of Ruhul Amin are urged to contact the relevant authorities.
