President Mohamed Muizzu on Sunday announced that electricity and water bills will be discounted during Ramadan this year.
The announcement was made during a meeting with residents of Kudahuvadhoo in Dhaalu Atoll as part of the president’s visit to the atoll.
President Muizzu stated that the government would ensure that electricity and water bills during Ramadan remain consistent with other months. A similar discount was provided last year.
"We will give discounts on electricity and water bills this Ramadan as we did last Ramadan. We will continue to do the same," he said.
