STELCO Managing Director Hussain Fahumy has reassured customers that they can request a payment extension if they face difficulties in settling their electricity bills.

This comes after concerns were raised about receiving two electricity bills this month, despite the government's announcement of discounts on electricity bills during Ramadan. Some customers have expressed that the standard deadline for bill payments is not sufficient, making it challenging to manage expenses.

In response, Fahumy stated in a post on 'X' that STELCO provides relief options for those in need. He emphasised that customers can easily apply for a payment extension through the STELCO website without having to contact him or any company official directly.

Fahumy highlighted that STELCO is dedicated to serving its customers with integrity and transparency. He assured the public of the company’s principles:

  • Customer-Centric Approach: STELCO prioritises the needs of its customers and is committed to providing them with convenient solutions.

  • Integrity and Loyalty: The company upholds strong ethical standards and remains loyal to the people.

  • Trust and Transparency: STELCO will not deceive its customers and is committed to honest business practices.

Addressing concerns about the timing of electricity bills, Fahumy explained that sending two bills was necessary to clear the backlog in billing and ensure a smoother process for Ramadan discounts.

He noted that last year, one of the major challenges during Ramadan was incorporating the discount across two separate months' bills. To avoid similar complications this year, STELCO has adjusted its billing approach.
