Parliament has been adjourned for the last 10 days of Ramadan and the Eid al-Fitr holidays.
Concluding Wednesday's sitting, Speaker Abdul Raheem Abdulla announced that the next sitting will be held on the 7th of next month. This date falls after the completion of six days of fasting following Ramadan.
The first session of parliament for the year began in early February. According to parliamentary rules, the term is set to conclude in May.
Earlier, the PNC parliamentary group attempted to propose a suspension of sittings for the entire month of Ramadan. While the committee initially approved the resolution, the parliamentary group later revised the decision.
