A Nepali national has been remanded in custody for seven days following a fight with a Bangladeshi national at a café in Hulhumalé on Friday night.
According to Maldives Police Service, the Bangladeshi individual sustained injuries during the altercation.
The Nepali man was arrested in connection with the incident and presented before the Criminal Court, which ordered his remand for a period of seven days.
Police have not disclosed the cause of the dispute.
Incidents involving altercations between foreign nationals have occurred previously. In February, a similar incident between a Bangladeshi and a Nepali national took place at a café in Male', resulting in injuries.
