2 PG lawyers suspended amid sexual harassment probe

The case has also been referred to the Maldives Police Service for further investigation.

The Prosecutor General’s Office (PGO) has suspended two of its lawyers following allegations of sexual harassment involving employees of the office.

In a statement on Sunday, the PGO confirmed that the office’s Ethics Committee is currently investigating the matter as a violation of ethical standards upheld by the institution.

The case has also been referred to the Maldives Police Service for further investigation.

According to the PGO, both suspended individuals are male lawyers. No further details have been made public at this stage, and investigations are ongoing.
