Raud remanded for 5 days over woman's fall
Raud was with Hawwa Yumnu Rasheed, 21, at the time of the incident.
Raud Ahmed Zilal, who was arrested in connection with the fall of a woman from the roof of H. Mitazge in Male’ last Thursday night, has been remanded in custody for five days.
According to the Maldives Police Service, Raud was arrested on Thursday and presented to the Criminal Court on Friday. The court granted a five-day remand while investigations are ongoing.
Raud was with Hawwa Yumnu Rasheed, 21, at the time of the incident. The police stated that the two were seen together on the staircase of H. Fentenoige, located on Buruzu Magu, prior to Yumnu’s fall. She is reported to have fallen from within the premises while she was with him.
The investigation into the incident is continuing.
