Maldives Customs on Thursday seized 3.6 kilograms of drugs suspected to be methamphetamine, which were smuggled into the country by air.
According to Customs, the drugs were discovered during an intelligence-led operation targeting a suspected air shipment. Testing confirmed the substance to be methamphetamine.

The total weight of the consignment, including packaging, was 3.6 kilograms. Authorities estimate the street value to be approximately MVR 7.2 million.
The seized drugs have been handed over to the Maldives Police Service for further investigation.
