First term ends for school students; 16-day break begins
According to the academic calendar, the second term is scheduled to commence on the 10th of next month.
The first term of the current academic year concluded on Thursday, with report books distributed to students across the Maldives.
Most students completed their first-term examinations on Monday. However, all students attended school on Thursday to mark the official end of the term. This begins a 16-day break before the second term starts.
According to the academic calendar, the second term is scheduled to commence on the 10th of next month.
Students will have a nine-day mid-term break in September. The main school holidays are scheduled for December, following a term that spans approximately six months.
The new academic year began in May with a total student population of 96,000, according to the Ministry of Education. This includes approximately 83,000 students enrolled in government schools and 13,000 in private schools.
