Dr Shah Mahir, Deputy CEO of Dharumavantha Hospital, has been appointed Managing Director of the newly established State Pharmaceutical and Medical Supply Corporation Limited.
The company was created last week to handle the bulk import of medicines and medical equipment into the Maldives. On Sunday, the Privatisation and Corporatisation Board (PCB) announced appointments to the corporation’s board.
Alongside Dr Shah, who will also serve as a board member, the appointees include Aishath Mohamed and Shibana Abdulla Didi.
Dr Shah previously served as State Minister at the Ministry of Health during the current administration before moving to Dharumavantha Hospital as Deputy CEO. He also held the post of State Minister during the government of former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, resigning in August 2023 at the end of that administration’s term.
