President Mohamed Muizzu on Wednesday visited the land reclamation area for the development of 'Rasmale' in K. Fushidhiggaru Falhu.
According to the President’s Office, he was accompanied by Housing Minister Dr Abdulla Muththalib, senior government officials, and parliament members representing Malé constituencies. The visit took place Wednesday evening as the President was returning to Malé after completing an official visit to K. Gulhi.
The President’s Office reported the following progress in the Rasmale’ project:

Site J work is complete.

25.53 percent of Site L has been completed.

20.09 percent of Site C has been completed.
During the Republic Day ceremony held Tuesday, President Muizzu announced that applications for 15,000 land plots will open within the next five months. He stated that anyone residing in the city will be eligible to apply.
The President said the dredging of 1,100 hectares of land in Rasmale’ will continue at high speed to address the housing shortage in the region.
He also noted that the family housing programme will be open to all individuals above the age of 18 who have not previously received housing, with priority given to those most in need.
