This is the second endowment building to be developed in Maldives. The building, named Dharul Salam, will cover an area of 20,000 square feet and will consist of 12 floors.
The project is scheduled to be completed within two years.
The government has also decided to establish similar endowment buildings in other populated areas. Income from these buildings will be used to support programmes carried out across the country to strengthen Islamic initiatives.
