Ministry sets prizes, scholarships for national Quran contest
Winners in three categories, as well as in the institutional category, will also receive MVR 100,000 and plaques of honour.

The Ministry of Islamic Affairs on Thursday announced the prizes for this year’s National Quran Competition. The results will be revealed on Sunday, 5 October.
According to the ministry, prizes will be awarded in the Hafiz, observed reading, and unobserved reading categories. The cash awards include:

First prize: MVR 75,000

Second prize: MVR 50,000
-
Third prize: MVR 35,000
In addition to cash prizes, Umrah trips will also be awarded.
From this year onwards, winners of the Hafiz, observed reading, and unobserved reading categories will receive a scholarship to pursue studies up to PhD level in any field and country.
Winners in these three categories, as well as in the institutional category, will also receive MVR 100,000 and plaques of honour.
This year’s competition includes 1,023 participants. Of these, 582 competed in the visual category, 412 in the non-visual category, and 29 in the Hafiz category.
The prizes will be presented by President Mohamed Muizzu.
