A man sustained serious injuries after being stabbed during a fight between two brothers at a Hiyaa flat in Hulhumalé Phase II on Sunday, police said.
Police said officers responded to a report of noise at an apartment in Tower 8 of the Hiyaa housing complex. Upon arrival, they found that a 38-year-old man had been injured in the incident.
The injured man was taken to Hulhumalé Hospital, where he is receiving treatment. Hospital officials said the stab wound penetrated deep into the spine and severed a major nerve.
Police have not confirmed whether any arrests have been made in connection with the incident. Investigations are ongoing.
