79 cases of child abuse in a month
In 2020, more than a thousand cases related to child abuse were reported, of which 461 cases were related to sexual violence.

Of the 208 cases reported to the gender ministry in October, 79 related to child abuse were reported, the ministry said Wednesday.
Data on cases reported to the ministry that month was posted on the gender ministry's website on Wednesday, showing:

Negligence: 23 cases

Apart from child abuse, six cases of violation of children's rights were also registered in October. These include:

Not sending children to school: 2 cases

Denial of clean drinking water: 2 cases

Power cuts: 1 problem

Non-registration of birth: 1 case
In addition to child abuse, domestic violence and family problems were the most frequently reported cases. A total of 36 cases of violence and domestic violence due to belonging to a particular gender were reported, while 33 cases related to family issues were reported. These include:

Physical abuse: 15 cases

Mental abuse/verbal abuse: 12 cases

Related to child rearing: 11 cases

Parents denied access to children: 12 cases
In addition, the highest number of cases filed in October are as follows:

Self-harm and attempted suicide: 13 cases

Lack of care for people with disabilities and the elderly: 22 cases

Related to child behaviour: 17 cases
Gender said two children were taken into state custody in October, four were reintegrated, one was fostered, and one child was able to find employment after turning 18.
The ministry has started publishing data on cases reported to the gender ministry every month. A total of 219 cases were reported in September this year, up from 248 in August.
