A Maldivian pilgrim has died after suffering a heart attack while performing Umrah in Mecca, according to the Al-Manasic Group.

The deceased has been identified as Mohamed Imthiyaz, 62, of M. Sakkeyomaage.

The group said Imthiyaz collapsed after suffering a heart attack while inside the Kaaba Mosque. He was performing his second Umrah at the time.

According to the Al-Manasic Group, Imthiyaz had previously received medical treatment for heart disease.

Further details regarding funeral arrangements were not immediately available.
