The Civil Service Commission (CSC) has revised the rules governing salary increments for civil service employees, allowing increments to be paid from the date an employee becomes eligible.

In an announcement issued on Wednesday, the CSC said civil servants will now receive salary increments from the date they meet the eligibility criteria for the increment.

Under the previous arrangement, salary increments were paid from the date of approval by the Ministry of Finance, after employees completed all required conditions for the increment.

The revised rules also set out provisions on performance assessment and the duration an employee is required to serve in a post before becoming eligible for an increment.

The CSC said the changes follow revisions to the state pay framework. As part of the revised framework, more than 20,000 public sector employees have received payments since last month.
