The ruling People’s National Congress (PNC) on Thursday opened a new party office in Malé, which the party described as the largest office established by a political party in the Maldives.
The office is located at H. Veyovilaage, a building that previously housed the opposition Maldivian Democratic Party and later its offshoot, The Democrats. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Mohamed Muizzu, who officially opened the premises at an event held on Thursday evening.
Speaking at the ceremony, President Muizzu thanked those involved in establishing the new party office.
The building, located in the Artificial Beach area, has been renovated and expanded, with additional floors added. According to the party, the lower level of the building will be used as the PNC’s main meeting hall.
