Galolhu city park reopens after decade-long closure

Galolhu City Park reopened on Tuesday following renovation works, after being closed for about ten years.
The park, located on Alikilegefaanu Magu, had previously been sealed off with metal sheets. Reconstruction works began in 2024.
The redeveloped park includes a badminton court, a three-on-three basketball court and an exercise area. Facilities also include a children’s play area and a space intended for public events.
Adam Azim said in a post on X that he welcomed the reopening of the park. He said providing public spaces for residents was a priority during his tenure as mayor and called on users to help maintain the park.
