Fares for the ferry service launched in Lhaviyani atoll under the government's Raajje Transport Link (RTL) national transport network will come to an effect on Sunday, government announced on Thurdday.
The ferry service was launched in mid November on a week-long trial basis, but the trial period was later extended to complete the arrangements.
Planning ministry on Thursday revealed the fares, which are set to take place on Sunday:

One-way trip cost between MVR 35-65

Return trip cost between MVR 65-120
Some people will be able to travel for free. They are:

Children under the age of 3 years

Persons with disabilities
The service was started in Lhaviyani Atoll as part of the second phase of the project.
Islands in Lhaviyani Atoll are connected by three routes. Morning and evening journeys will take place on each route.
According to MTCC, the company will then start operations from the southernmost part of the country.
