President announces RTL ferry services for Alif Dhaalu Atoll

President Mohamed Muizzu on Sunday announced the upcoming launch of RTL ferry services in Alif Dhaalu Atoll, a move aimed at addressing transportation challenges in the region.

During the meeting, Atoll Council members highlighted several pressing issues faced by the people in the province, particularly the difficulties in transportation.
President Muizzu responded by emphasizing his administration's commitment to expanding the RTL service to improve connectivity and ensure smoother travel for residents of Alif Dhaalu.
In addition to transportation, the Atoll Council shared several other concerns with the President:

Solar Power Installation in Schools: Council members discussed the need for renewable energy solutions, proposing the installation of solar power systems in schools.

Revenue Generation Initiatives: The council suggested exploring the use of saltwater as a means to generate revenue for the atoll.

Healthcare Development: They underscored the need to enhance healthcare services within the atoll to meet the growing needs of the community.

Tourism Expansion: The council called for the development of tourism infrastructure and raised concerns about the lack of designated picnic islands in the region.
President Muizzu assured the council that he would review these requests and explore potential solutions to address the concerns raised.
The RTL ferry service, which provides efficient and affordable transportation, is already operational in several atolls, including Haa Alif, Haa Dhaalu, Shaviyani, Noonu, Raa, Baa, Lhaviyani, Gaafu Alif, Gaafu Dhaalu, and Addu Atoll.
