Elderly pedestrian dies after road accident in Eydhafushi

An elderly man has died while receiving treatment for injuries sustained after being struck by a pickup truck in Eydhafushi earlier this month.
The accident occurred on 15 February while the man was walking along the road with the assistance of a walking stick.

The victim has been identified as Abu Bakr Abdulla, 88, of Seesange, Eydhafushi. He was transferred to Malé following the incident and admitted to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital.
He died on Friday morning while undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit.
