60-year-old killed in vehicle repair incident in Hulhumalé
The deceased was identified as Mohamed Manik of Meadows, S. Hithadhoo.
A 60-year-old man died on Sunday after a pickup truck fell on him while he was carrying out repair work in Hulhumalé, police said.
The incident occurred at around 11:00 am near the cemetery area. A police spokesperson told Atoll Times on Monday that the man was under the pickup truck at the time of the incident when the vehicle fell on him.
The injured man was taken to Hulhumalé Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, the spokesperson said.
Police have not released further details and said an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
According to information shared on funeral notices, the deceased was identified as Mohamed Manik of Meadows, S. Hithadhoo. Funeral services were held on Sunday night after Isha prayers.
