The Criminal Court imposed the sentence on Ibrahim Nail, of Villadelight/V. Rakeedhoo, after he pleaded guilty to the charges brought by the prosecution.
Nail was charged with two offences: assault, and unlawfully detaining a person for a period without consent.
According to the judgment, the court accepted a plea agreement signed between the prosecution and the accused. The sentences were ordered to be served consecutively, amounting to a total of eight months.
