Police seek man over blasphemous TikTok remarks on Islam
The man has been identified as Ahmed Amir, 51, of H. Filikurige.

Maldives Police Service said it is seeking a man accused of making remarks insulting Islam and the Prophet during a live broadcast on TikTok.
Police said videos circulating online show the individual making statements about Islam and the Qur’an during a TikTok live session. In the video, he is also heard claiming that revelation would be received by him in addition to the Prophet.
The man has been identified as Ahmed Amir, 51, of H. Filikurige.
Police said efforts are under way to produce him before investigators for questioning in connection with the case.
According to police, the allegations under investigation include using social media platforms to defame Islam and disrupt religious unity, as well as calling for the abolition of the Islamic Ministry.
Police said Ahmed Amir is expected to present himself at the Sergeant Adam Haleem Criminal Investigation Building on the evening of the 10th of next month.
Videos circulating online have claimed that the man is from N. Kudafari. However, police said he is currently residing abroad.
