MNDF to hold Eid celebrations across Malé area for 3 days

The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) has announced plans to hold Eid al-Fitr celebrations for three days this year.
According to the MNDF, the programme titled “Eid Haveeru 1447” will take place in Malé, Hulhumalé Phase 1, Hulhumalé Phase 2 and Villimalé.
Activities will begin at 4 pm on Eid Day and will be held daily from 4 pm to 6 pm for three days.
In Malé, activities will be organised in the area from the marble courtyard outside the Islamic Centre to Republic Square and the official bridge area.
Events in Hulhumalé will take place at Central Park and Hiyaa Park.
In Villimalé, the programme will be held at the island’s football stadium.
The government has also decided to open Sultan Park on the evening of Eid.
According to the MNDF, the evening programme will include activities, games and entertainment, along with the distribution of Eid gifts.
Government institutions and private companies will organise stalls and games for visitors. The stalls will offer activities for children.
The programme will also include displays by the MNDF. Visitors will be able to view military uniforms, equipment used in operations, and road and sea vehicles. Opportunities will also be provided to take photographs and view the equipment.
