Speaking at a press conference, EC President Mohamed Zahid said official results will be released from 2:30pm, in accordance with legal requirements.
“The elections for constituencies heading to a second round will be held on Saturday, the 18th of this month. Preparations have already begun,” Zahid said.
He also stated that 215,346 out of 294,876 eligible voters cast their ballots, representing 73% turnout.
A total of 170 complaints were submitted to the National Complaints Bureau. These are under review, and complainants may appeal to the High Court within 14 days if they are not satisfied with the outcome.
Zahid said the voting process was conducted in a free and fair manner.
