MNDF to organise 3-day Eid programme in Malé area

Large-scale Eid al-Adha celebrations have been scheduled across Malé, Hulhumalé and Vilimalé, with activities planned over a three-day period.

The programme, titled “Eid Haveeru 1445”, will be organised by the Maldives National Defence Force.

According to the organisers, the events will take place from the 27th to the 29th of this month between 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM daily.

The celebrations will involve participation from the military, police and 10 state-owned enterprises.

In Malé, activities will be held in and around:

  • Sultan Park

  • Shaheedhunge Binna

  • Jumhooree Maidhaan

  • Official Jetty area

Planned activities include water fountain displays, foam bath pools, rappelling demonstrations and exhibitions of military uniforms, operational equipment and vessels. Members of the public will also be allowed to take photographs with displayed equipment.

The MNDF further stated that the Arts and Ceremonial Service of the Adjutant General’s Corps will conduct performances in Malé on the second day of Eid. A separate performance is also scheduled in Hulhumalé on the first day of Eid.

In Hulhumalé, events will be held at:

  • Central Park

  • Hiyaa Park area in Phase 2

Activities planned for Central Park include rappelling, water slides and foam bath pools.

At Hiyaa Park, the programme will feature exhibitions of firefighting equipment and turntable ladder climbing activities.

Additional celebrations are also planned at the Vilimalé football ground, where organisers said obstacle courses and children’s activities will be conducted.

  • Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company

  • Housing Development Corporation

  • FENAKA Corporation
