A parasail carrying riders tore apart in strong winds in K. Maafushi on Monday morning.
The incident occurred after strong gusts of wind caused the parasail canopy to rip while it was airborne.

Following the incident, the parasail became entangled in the island's zipline structure.
The riders were rescued by people operating nearby jet skis. No injuries were reported.
The Maldives Meteorological Service (MET Office) has forecast rain across parts of the country and warned that wind gusts could reach up to 35 mph during squalls.
