
Boy dies after goal post collapses during football match

A boy who was playing football in HA. Uligan died Saturday after a goal post fell on him.
Police said the incident took place around 5.50 pm on Saturday.

Uligamu council member Ahmed Abubakar told Atoll Times that the boy died after the goal post fell and hit the boy's head and nape.
"There wasnt much injury on the outside. But there was bleeding from the nose," he said.
A local eye witness said that the post fell when the victim had clung on to the goal.
"He even tried to run when he saw the goal post falling, but the metal pole hit him on the back of the head. There was bleeding from the nose and ears as well," said Mohamed Waheed, who works at the island mosque.
